

Cordia Africana is a broad leaved evergreen tree that grows up to thirty meters high. The tree is native to Africa and is characterized by its almost circular broad leaves, bright white flowers and small yellow fruits, which are edible. The seeds have produce a sticky colorless substance which looks like paper glue.
The Cordia Africana tree is slow maturing tree and takes upwards of twenty years to mature. The tree can be planted in all regions across Kenya.
Traditional African communities mostly preferred using wood from the Cordia Africana tree to make drums and other furnishings.
